A cliff-edge road above white surf and sea haze
Picture a road cut into the side of a cliff. Tall ochre cliffs rise on the left, the road clings to their edge with an orange stripe along it, and far below the sea breaks white on the rocks. Headland after headland fades into sea haze in the distance, and a few gulls hang in the air. In the bottom corner a rider in a helmet comes round the bend towards you on a bike with a round headlamp.
It is painted in flat shapes with a soft, grainy finish: sandy gold, deep sea blue, misty grey-blue and dark tarmac. It is a lovely reminder for anyone who has done the long run round Scotland's far edge, or is saving up to. It works in a kitchen, a hallway or anywhere with plenty of light.
One thing to know before you choose. The tall version shows the rider in full on the lower bend. On the wider formats, like canvas, metal and wood, the picture is cropped so the rider is cut at the chest along the bottom edge, and the cliffs, sea and haze take over. If the rider matters most, go for the framed poster or the mug. More coast and mountain roads are on our great roads page.
