Golden moorland bends under a low peach sun
Gold, orange and deep teal do most of the work here. A big peach sun sits low on the horizon, a small white cottage stands on the far ridge, and a dark road winds through moorland grass and scrubby bushes towards you. On the nearest bend a rider leans the bike over, its round headlamp facing you, with orange lines running along the edges of the road.
This is the moorland road between Buxton and Macclesfield, at golden hour. A sweeper is a long, open bend you can ride at a steady lean, and the whole picture is about that feeling of one corner running into the next. Cat and Fiddle suits the rider who lives for a Sunday run. Its warm colours make it feel at home in a living room, a snug or a den.
The tall print keeps the whole sun. The wider formats lose most of it, leaving a sliver of orange at the top edge with the cottage still in view, while the rider and the bends fill the rest. Framed canvas and metal both show this wider crop. See more like it on our great roads page.
